Football Recap: Round Mountain Comes Up Short at Home Against Indian Springs

Round Mountain unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 28-20 to the Indian Springs Thunderbirds on Friday. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thunderbirds apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Round Mountain lost, don't look at Gunner Olsen. Despite the final result, he rushed for 280 yards and two TDs while picking up 12.7 yards per carry. Olsen showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 60 yards.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Round Mountain is set to challenge their familiar foe Spring Mountain at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Indian Springs will face off against rival Pahranagat Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
