Baseball Recap: St. Augustine Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for St. Augustine's offense. They fell just short of the Ponte Vedra Sharks by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

St. Augustine saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Petty, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

St. Augustine's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Ponte Vedra, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-6.

Looking ahead, St. Augustine will challenge Spruce Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Augustine's pitchers better be ready for this one: Spruce Creek has averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season. As for Ponte Vedra, they will take on Oakleaf at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
