Basketball Game Preview: Smoky Hill Buffaloes vs. Spring Valley Grizzlies

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Cruz Valdez, who posted 12 points and six boards. Valdez is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Daniel Boyd, who scored 16 points.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 70 points the game before, Spring Valley was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They took a blow against Desert Pines, falling 74-28. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Jaguars are ranked third).

Smoky Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Spring Valley, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
