Cactus is 0-5 against Estrella Foothills since April of 2023 but things could change on Wednesday. The Cobras will square off against the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Cactus will bounce into Wednesday's game after beating Peoria, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Cobras came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 6-1 on Tuesday.
Eli Torres was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Phoenix Huisinga was excellent, earning one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Cactus: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-15 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Estrella Foothills had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They blew past the Cobras 18-1. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by ten runs or more this season.
Devin Kriley looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Blake Miller, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Vargas, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Estrella Foothills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.
Cactus is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-16 record this season. As for Estrella Foothills, their record now sits at 12-10.
Cactus suffered a grim 18-1 defeat to Estrella Foothills when the teams last played on Monday. Can the Cobras avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
