Volleyball Recap: Normangee Panthers vs. Centerville Tigers
Normangee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Centerville Tigers. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played on October 4th.
While Normangee ultimately came up short, they really made Centerville work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 30-28, 22-25, 25-23, 25-16.
Maylee Hartwick paced Normangee's offense, picking up nine kills. Hartwick got some help from
Emily Hass and her 14 assists. Hass was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Normangee's defeat dropped their record down to 13-23. As for Centerville, their record now sits at 8-30.
Coincidentally, both will both be playing Lovelady the next time they take the court. Normangee will head out to face Lovelady at 9:00 p.m. on Friday, while Centerville will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
