Baseball Recap: Springfield Southeast Comes Up Short

If Springfield Southeast was feeling good fresh off their 11-5 takedown of MacArthur on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans fell just short of the Springfield Senators by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Senators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-4 back in March.

Springfield Southeast's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Springfield, they moved to 6-13 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Springfield Southeast will square off against Granite City at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Springfield, they will host Athens at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
