Volleyball Recap: Elmira Comes Up Short

Elmira lost against Corning-Painted Post back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Express came up short against the Hawks, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-19, 25-17.

Corning-Painted Post can attribute much of their success to Bella Gonzalez, who had 11 digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Gonzalez a new career-high.

Elmira's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Corning-Painted Post, the victory got them back to even at 4-4-1.

Looking ahead, Corning-Painted Post will face off against Owego Free Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Elmira will be paying especially close attention to the Hawks' contest: after the Hawks face off against Windsor Central, they'll take on Elmira again at 6:30 p.m. on October 21.
