Baseball Recap: Manheim Central Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Palmyra, Manheim Central was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Garden Spot Spartans. The win continues a trend for the Barons in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won three in a row.

Kyle Mylin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Manheim Central is 6-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Mylin was also big at the plate, earning one run and two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chase Book, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Manheim Central's record is now 8-5. As for Garden Spot, their record now sits at 6-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manheim Central will take on Warwick at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Garden Spot, they will challenge Hempfield at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Black Knights will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
