Volleyball Game Preview: South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] Mustangs vs. Herreid/Selby Wolverines

The South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Herreid/Selby Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] came up short against Ellendale last Thursday, falling 3-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Mustangs haven't been shut out since back in September.

South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-15, 25-21.

Herreid/Selby hadn't beaten Faulkton on the road since October 10, 2017 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Wolverines were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Trojans.

While Herreid/Selby won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 27-25, 25-20.

South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley]'s loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Herreid/Selby, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Herreid/Selby when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
