Basketball Recap: Skyridge Comes Up Short

Skyridge suffered their biggest loss since February 6th on Saturday. They were outmatched by the Highlands Ranch Falcons and fell 61-32. The contest marked Skyridge's lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Skyridge's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lily Grant, who posted five points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Highlands Ranch to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayda Rogers, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ezra Simonich, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 14 points and five rebounds.

With the loss, Skyridge broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-5. As for Highlands Ranch, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Skyridge will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mountain Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Highlands Ranch will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Ralston Valley at 3:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Highlands Ranch has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 179 points over their last three contests.
