Softball Game Preview: Harrisburg Hornets vs. Newport Greyhounds

The Harrisburg Hornets are taking a road trip to face off against the Newport Greyhounds at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Harrisburg fell victim to Hoxie and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 12-0. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Harrisburg saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Mross, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Newport was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 12-1 to Hoxie.

Newport's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Harrisburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.

Harrisburg took their win against Newport when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
