Baseball Game Preview: Harlingen South Hawks vs. Donna North Chiefs

For the second straight game, Harlingen South will face off against Donna North. The Hawks will welcome the Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Harlingen South has seven straight wins, Donna North has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

If Harlingen South beats Donna North with 12 runs on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Hawks never let the Chiefs get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Tuesday. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by six runs or more this season.

Aundr? Guadarrama made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, earning four RBI and one run.

In other pitching news, Richard Pizano looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Harlingen South got a massive performance out of Noah Garcia, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. What's more, Garcia posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Olivares, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Donna North's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Harlingen South, their win bumped their record up to 21-5.
