Baseball Recap: Savanna Comes Up Short

Savanna has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.47 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They lost 13-5 to the Century Centurions. The Rebels haven't had much luck with the Centurions recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Savanna's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Century, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Savanna will challenge Estancia at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Rebels surely won't give up without a fight. As for Century, they will square off against Northview at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Centurions' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
