Baseball Game Preview: Hudson Cobras vs. Central Bears

The Hudson Cobras will challenge the Central Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Hudson has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Central will arrive with three straight wins.

Justin Mitchell was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over 4.1 innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

On the hitting side, Hudson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryder Tysko, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, while Central put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Weeki Wachee. Central narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Weeki Wachee 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bears have posted since February 14th.

Central's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Hudson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Hudson has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
