Baseball Recap: Stoneman Douglas' Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to 11

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Stoneman Douglas walked away with it. They never let the West Broward Bobcats get on the board and left with a 6-0 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 14 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Stoneman Douglas let Cade Raley and Bennett Gary run wild. Raley went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one stolen base, while Gary went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most runs Raley has posted since back in March.

Stoneman Douglas kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Broward only managed one hit.

The victory (which was Stoneman Douglas' 11th in a row) raised their record to 28-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for West Broward, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-13.

Stoneman Douglas will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bobcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
