West Valley faced North Pole in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Wolf Pack's pitcher stepped up to hand the Patriots a 10-0 shutout. The win was nothing new for the Wolf Pack as they're now sitting on six straight.

Jacquilyn Haberstumpf made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, West Valley got a massive performance out of Aaliah Hildebrand, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Hildebrand also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Makayla Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base.

West Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 13.4.

West Valley pushed their record up to 6-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for North Pole, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Valley will face off against Lathrop at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Malemutes will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Wolf Pack surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Pole, they are taking a road trip to challenge Delta at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
