John Jay faced Fox Lane in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Patriots blew past the Foxes 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.

John Jay got a great performance from Shawn Caragine as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Vinny Angioletti was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Shane Driscoll, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

John Jay kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fox Lane only managed one hit.

The victory was the third in a row for John Jay, bringing their record up to 16-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Fox Lane, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-4.

Looking ahead, John Jay will be playing at home against Ketcham at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Patriots are on a nine-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the Storm a four-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. As for Fox Lane, they will head out on the road to take on Clarkstown South at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
