Football Recap: Calipatria's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

After flying high against Somerton last Thursday, Calipatria came back down to earth. The Hornets took a 34-20 bruising from the Palo Verde Valley Yellow Jackets on Friday. The matchup marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Palo Verde Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Darrius Scott out in front who rushed for 44 yards and one TD, and also picked up 45 receiving yards. Scott didn't just play on offense: he also made seven total tackles and defended one pass. Wesley Dill was in the mix too, providing Palo Verde Valley with one score.

Calipatria moved to 4-3 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Palo Verde Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-4.
