Basketball Game Preview: Olympian Eagles vs. Victory Christian Academy Knights

The Olympian Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Victory Christian Academy Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Olympian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Victory Christian Academy likes a good challenge.

Olympian is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 83-49 win over St. Joseph Academy. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while the Crusaders are ranked 947th), the result on Monday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Victory Christian Academy ended up a good deal behind Montgomery on Tuesday and lost 58-44. While the Knights didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Aztecs 14-5 in the first quarter.

Victory Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Olympian, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-5.

Olympian skirted past Victory Christian Academy 57-55 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Victory Christian Academy's Isaiah Owens, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 14 boards. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Olympian still be able to contain Owens? There's only one way to find out.
