Soccer Recap: Hilliard Comes Up Short

Hilliard fell victim to Westside and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 8-0 to the Wolverines. While losing is never fun, Hilliard can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 627th, while Westside are ranked 285th).

Hilliard's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Westside, they pushed their record up to 9-2-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Hilliard will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Fernandina Beach at 7:20 p.m. on January 5, 2026. Westside will be paying especially close attention to the Red Flashes' contest: after the Red Flashes face off against the Pirates, they'll take on Westside again at 7:20 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
