Baseball Recap: Central York Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Central York challenged Northeastern on Tuesday. The Panthers fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Bobcats: they've now lost five in a row.

Central York saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kam Holtzapple, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Holtzapple has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Central York's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Northeastern, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central York will challenge Spring Grove at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Northeastern, they will square off against Cumberland Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
