Baseball Game Preview: McDonogh 35 Roneagles vs. L.W. Higgins Hurricanes

McDonogh 35 is 0-5 against L.W. Higgins since March of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Roneagles will venture away from home to take on the Hurricanes at 4:00 p.m. McDonogh 35 knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully L.W. Higgins likes a good challenge.

McDonogh 35's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Varnado as they made off with a 15-0 victory. The Roneagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by ten runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, L.W. Higgins came up short against East Jefferson on Tuesday and fell 6-3. The Hurricanes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

McDonogh 35 has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.6 runs over those games. As for L.W. Higgins, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 16-8.

McDonogh 35 suffered a grim 18-1 defeat to L.W. Higgins in their previous meeting back in February of 2021. Can the Roneagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
