Baseball Recap: Santa Fe Catholic Makes It Ten in a Row at Home

Santa Fe Catholic put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Bartow Yellow Jackets by a score of 5-2. For the Hawks, this counts as revenge for the 8-1 victory the Yellow Jackets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

Mike Welling was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only a hit while striking out 11 over 6.2 innings pitched. Welling was also big at the plate, going a perfect3-for-3 with one RBI.

Welling wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Easton Beach, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Another was D.J. Flores, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Santa Fe Catholic's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.1 runs. As for Bartow, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
