Basketball Game Preview: Jay Royals vs. Laurel Hill Hoboes

Jay is 6-0 against Laurel Hill since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Jay Royals will take on the Laurel Hill Hoboes. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Jay took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 65-49 victory over Central.

Jay can attribute much of their success to Adyson Adams, who posted 17 points and eight rebounds. Those 17 points gave Adams a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hattie Locklin, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Laurel Hill rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 62-38 margin over the Gators. The Hoboes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 24 points or more this season.

Jay pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Laurel Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 13-7.

Everything went Jay's way against Laurel Hill when the teams last played back in January of 2022, as Jay made off with a 43-21 win. In that contest, Jay amassed a halftime lead of 32-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
