Volleyball Recap: Cherry Creek Falls Short Against Ranked Cherokee Trail

Cherry Creek faced Cherokee Trail in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Bruins fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-2. The Bruins haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Cherry Creek couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Cherokee Trail a tough time in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 28-30, 25-19, 21-25, 25-21, 15-12.

Noah Reynolds paced Cherry Creek's offense, picking up 17 kills. Reynolds got some help from Perry Halford and his 27 assists. Finally, Reynolds was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Hayden Parmelee was the offensive standout of the match as he had ten digs and two aces. Those two aces gave him a new career-high.

Cherry Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Cherokee Trail, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.

Cherry Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Boulder on the 19th. As for Cherokee Trail, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Overland on the 18th.
