Baseball Recap: Woodlawn Takes a Loss

Woodlawn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They came up short against the Huffman Vikings, falling 19-5. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, with their most recent loss being a 6-4 defeat last Wednesday.

Cervontay Dalis made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Woodlawn's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Huffman, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodlawn will square off against Jackson-Olin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.84 runs per game on average), something the Colonels will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Huffman, they will welcome Shades Valley at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Mounties have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.52 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
