Baseball Game Preview: Hialeah Thoroughbreads vs. Columbia Tigers

The Hialeah Thoroughbreads will take on the Columbia Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hialeah will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Hialeah earned a 9-6 victory over Hialeah Gardens.

The team relied heavily on Alexander Vargas, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Vazquez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Columbia took on Bishop Snyder on Thursday. The Tigers skirted past the Cardinals 3-1.

Kyler Keen tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Columbia's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Slaymaker, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Hialeah's record now sits at 7-5. As for Columbia, their record is now 10-5.
