It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Eastern ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Southern Tornadoes 6-5. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Tornadoes: they've now won five in a row.

Clayton Moore made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hunter Needs, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Trace Barnett was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Eastern kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southern only managed six.

Eastern's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Southern, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.
