Soccer Game Preview: Copper Canyon vs. Washington

The Copper Canyon Aztecs will take on the Washington Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Copper Canyon is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Sierra Linda just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 3-3 draw. While a more conclusive result would've been nice, the Aztecs got plenty of practice considering the match was the highest-scoring draw the team's played all season.

Jonathan Hernandez Ramirez and Anthony Ortiz scored all three of Copper Canyon's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

Meanwhile, Washington hasn't lost a match since December 6, 2024, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They played to a draw too, finishing 2-2 against Independence. The Rams' defeat signaled the end of their 14-game winning streak.

Copper Canyon's draw makes their record 9-4-5 this season. As for Washington, they moved theirs to 18-1-1.
