Recap: McCallie Blue Tornado vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
The McCallie Blue Tornado waltzed into their contest Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They came out on top against Notre Dame by a score of 52-42. Given McCallie's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Notre Dame is ranked 288th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McCallie to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kenneth Chime, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds. Chime is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Gallman, who scored 13 points.
McCallie's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Notre Dame, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
McCallie and Chattanooga Christian will face off at 8:30 p.m. on December 30, 2023 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Chattanooga Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 292 points over their last four matches. Notre Dame will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Baylor at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th.
