Baseball Recap: Lord Botetourt Triumphs

Lord Botetourt gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Staunton River Golden Eagles. The Cavaliers haven't had any issues with the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Kobe Hairston spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Chase Peck was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Lord Botetourt: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Brady Kish was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

Lord Botetourt's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Staunton River, they dropped their record down to 8-9 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.
