Softball Game Preview: Yamhill-Carlton Tigers vs. Willamina Bulldogs

The Yamhill-Carlton Tigers will face off against the Willamina Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Yamhill-Carlton had taken Dayton down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Tigers fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 8-7. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Willamina waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Cavaliers 18-8. Considering the Bulldogs have won 11 games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Willamina's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Yamhill-Carlton, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Yamhill-Carlton was able to grind out a solid win over Willamina in their previous matchup back in April, winning 4-1. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
