Basketball Recap: East Paulding Comes Up Short

East Paulding suffered their biggest loss since December 27, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the Alexander Cougars, falling 43-22. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while the Cougars are ranked 93rd).

Alexander found their leader in sophomore Nimah Ibidunni, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 boards. The match was Ibidunni's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rachel Porter, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

East Paulding has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Alexander, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-8.

East Paulding will welcome Lithia Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. East Paulding is facing Lithia Springs at the right time seeing as Lithia Springs is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Alexander, they are taking a road trip to take on Kennesaw Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Alexander is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.3 points per game this season.
