Preview: Midfield Patriots vs. Shades Valley Mounties
Two dominant players in Armonie Franklin and Jeremy Chatman are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Midfield Patriots will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Shades Valley Mounties at 5:30 p.m. on January 15th. One thing working in Midfield's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.
Even though Fultondale scored an imposing 65 points on Saturday, Midfield still came out on top. Midfield had just enough and edged Fultondale out 68-65. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Midfield has posted yet this season.
Midfield's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Franklin, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Franklin has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Riddle, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Shades Valley came up short against Mountain Brook on Friday and fell 42-35. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Shades Valley has scored all season.
Midfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Shades Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.
Midfield beat Shades Valley 52-44 in their previous matchup back in November of 2021. Will Midfield repeat their success, or does Shades Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
