Softball Preview: St. Joseph's Academy Angels vs. Parkway North Vikings        
        
		
             After starting their season with two straight games on the road, St. Joseph's Academy is finally coming home. They will be defending their home-fieldthey go up against the Parkway North Vikings  at 4:15  p.m.  on Thursday. Both come into the  matchup bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 St. Joseph's Academy will roll into the  game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two  runs  last Monday, then bounced right back against Lutheran  on Wednesday. St. Joseph's Academy walked away with  a   10-7  win over Lutheran.
  Julie Origliasso was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out nine batters over  seven innings while giving up  three earned  (and four unearned) runs off   ten  hits (and not a single walk). Origliasso was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-5.
 In other batting news,  Mary Ott was a standout: she scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Sophia Besmer, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 3-for-4.
 Meanwhile, Parkway North sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  3-1  victory over Fox  on Tuesday.
 The  win  got St. Joseph's Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Parkway North, their  victory (their first of the  season) made their record 1-2.
 St. Joseph's Academy beat Parkway North 11-6  when the teams last played  back in October of 2023. Does  St. Joseph's Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Parkway North turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
