Softball Game Preview: Kennedy Titans vs. Washington Huskies

The Kennedy Titans will venture away from home to square off against the Washington Huskies at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Kennedy's offense. They lost 14-0 to James Logan two weeks ago. The Titans' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Las Lomas, falling 12-1.

Washington saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Machuca, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Kennedy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Washington, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Kennedy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Washington struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Kennedy was able to grind out a solid win over Washington in their previous meeting back in March, winning 7-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
