Baseball Recap: Sweetwater Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Sweetwater's offense. They fell just short of the Westview Chargers by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wildcats have suffered since April 1st.

This is the second loss in a row for Sweetwater and nudges their season record down to 22-11-1. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 26-5 Huntingdon (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 82.5% over those games). As for Westview, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-7 record this season.

Sweetwater does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westview, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 11-8 defeat against Huntingdon on the 22nd.
