Soccer Game Preview: Central Valley vs. Yreka

Central Valley hasn't had much luck against Yreka recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Central Valley Falcons are headed away from home for the first time to face off against the Yreka Miners at 4:30 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Central Valley is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 8-0 to University Prep. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Falcons haven't been shut out since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Yreka was not quite Lassen's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Grizzlies by a score of 2-1. The Miners' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Yreka now has a losing record at 4-5-3. As for Central Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Central Valley suffered a grim 10-1 defeat to Yreka in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Central Valley was down 6-0.
