Baseball Recap: Ellis Takes a Loss

Ellis lost against Spearville on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Railroaders came up short against the Lancers, falling 15-6. The Railroaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ellis saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Aschenbrenner, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Aschenbrenner also got two hits, marking his first of the season.

Ellis' loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Spearville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ellis will welcome Minneola at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Railroaders are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Spearville, they will square off against Satanta on Thursday. The contest will give the Lancers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
