Basketball Recap: Stockton Takes a Loss

Stockton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 54-38 bruising from the Marionville Comets. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Comets are ranked 90th).

Marionville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lanie Stokes, who went 8 for 17 on her way to 20 points. That's the most points Stokes has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Bright, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Stockton's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Marionville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Stockton has already played their next contest (against Lamar), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Marionville has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Forsyth.
