Softball Recap: Bradshaw Mountain Takes a Loss

Bradshaw Mountain fell victim to ALA - Queen Creek and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 1-0. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Kodee Statler spent all 7.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 20 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Laila Silva was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one stolen base. Those doubles were her first of the season.

Bradshaw Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for ALA - Queen Creek, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Bradshaw Mountain didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-1 victory against Mohave on the 24th.
