Baseball Recap: Boca Ciega Comes Up Short

Boca Ciega was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 13-3 to the Palm Harbor University Hurricanes. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 13-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Boca Ciega's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Palm Harbor University, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-7.

Boca Ciega will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Gibbs at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th. Boca Ciega is facing Gibbs at the right time seeing as Gibbs is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Palm Harbor University, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Hollins on the 14th.
