Softball Recap: Montesano Wins Going Away Against Tenino

While Montesano put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Tenino. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Beavers. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Beavers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Grace Gooding was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Addison Potts was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Jaelyn Butterfield was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one triple.

Montesano kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive contests.

Montesano's victory bumped their record up to 9-4-1. As for Tenino, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Montesano beat the Beavers by a score of 12-0 later that day.
