Baseball Recap: Bremen Comes Up Short

Bremen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 7-3 to the LaVille Lancers. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lancers earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Silas Laidig made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Bremen is 5-2 when Laidig posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Jack Wildauer was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Bremen's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for LaVille, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Bremen has already played their next game, a 0-0 draw against Washington Township on the 10th. As for LaVille, they will host Culver Academies at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Lancers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
