While Hanover's win against Mechanicsville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hawks narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Mustangs 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hawks have posted since May 22, 2025.

Willow Dickenson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Lucy Fleisher, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Hanover and bumps their season record up to 6-2. As for Mechanicsville, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hanover will challenge Glen Allen at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Jaguars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something the Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Mechanicsville, they will take on Maggie Walker at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
