Basketball Recap: Greensburg Beats Rushville for Their Third Straight Win

Greensburg won the last time they faced Rushville, and Jack Mckinsey did his part to make sure it happened again. The Greensburg Pirates strolled past the Rushville Lions with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 51-36 thanks in part to Mckinsey, who went 6 for 9 to rack up 18 points and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.1% shooting accuracy.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Adrian Apodaca, who posted nine points. XxZavien Jenkins was another key player, putting up seven points and five rebounds.

The victory (which was Greensburg's third in a row) raised their record to 8-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points over those games. As for Rushville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.

Greensburg wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-36 win against Jac-Cen-Del on the 8th. As for Rushville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Batesville at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Batesville has six straight victories, Rushville has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
