Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Eminence's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Eminence hadn't done well against Carroll County recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Warriors' pitcher stepped up to hand the Panthers a 3-0 shutout. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Not much got past Tanner Simpson, who gave up just six hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Carroll County off the board. Simpson also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Eminence is 4-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Eminence's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Craft Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Eminence is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Carroll County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.

Eminence will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
