Espy Guerrero spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Valeria Gomez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Karla Oliva, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but La Quinta ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Estancia, sneaking past 13-12. The Aztecs haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

The win got La Quinta back to even at 4-4. As for Santa Ana Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Santa Ana Valley might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from La Quinta when the teams last played back in March of 2022. Can Santa Ana Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
