Softball Recap: North Baltimore's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

North Baltimore dropped their record down to 12-5 on Thursday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Waynesfield-Goshen. North Baltimore was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Waynesfield-Goshen apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

As for Waynesfield-Goshen, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games.

For Waynesfield-Goshen's part, Tarynn Vorhes made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Vorhes has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
