Basketball Recap: Boardman Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cardinal Mooney last Saturday, Boardman came back down to earth. The Boardman Spartans fell 43-35 to the Canfield Cardinals on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Cardinals are ranked 43rd).

Boardman now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Canfield, they pushed their record up to 16-1 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boardman will face off against East at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Canfield has already played their next match (against Austintown-Fitch), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
